The phrase "face value" typically suggests an acceptance of things as they first appear. In this exhibition, we challenge that definition. Face Value will bring together a multi-generational collective of diverse Chicago-based artists to prove that the human condition is never a flat surface, but a deep archive of history, resilience, and personal truth.

By featuring artists from across the city, we bridge the gap between different backgrounds and life experiences. Here, the polished technique of a career academic hangs alongside the raw, urgent expression of a self-taught creator. By intentionally mixing artists of all ages and abilities, the exhibition collapses traditional hierarchies, focusing instead on the universal impulse to see and be seen.
