This visual art exhibition is by Stop Motion Plant, the 2025 Artists in Residence at Agitator Gallery. They are a Chicago-based DIY arts collective consisting of a core ensemble and an ever-evolving community of performance artists who they lovingly call "Friends of the Plant." Their primary goal is to foster solidarity in the performance arts community by cultivating an inclusive space to create original, often radical, devised work.
Stop Motion Plant: Creating Space, Cultivating Community follows the evolution of the collective throughout the years as they've dug into the exploration of community building, experimenting with DIY theater in a multitude of audiences, media and venues. Join the exhibit to see their process/history and attend one of their monthly events. Just like their Salon Series, their Propagation Labs* at Agitator are open to participants. Join them, meet new people, make new art and have fun!
