Join Agitator artists in the fine art tradition of making masks and puppets for participation in cultural rituals and art events in Chicago.
Agitator puppeteer Wendy Madrigal & sculptor Alonso Galue guide this workshop designed to assist participants in building puppets, masks, & costumes for ritual performance. Wendy and Alonso present a puppet play and an absurdist march around the gallery neighborhood on the Day of the Dead (Nov 1st) during a night of performance, music and poetry of Death. We invite you to build your mask/persona and then participate in the procession.

The Wonder Mask Pilgrimage happened Saturday, March 1st, 2024 The group gathered at Logan Square Blue Line Station, boarded the train in full character—dressed in monochrome—and performed as the personas developed during the workshop. Our journey lead us to the Chicago Cultural Center (@chicagoculturalcenter), where we became a part of the performance of puppetry exhibition that was currently on display.
