PRESENTATIONS:

Juna LaCalamita - Musical performance (guitar & vocals)

I am a trans multi-instrumentalist and songwriter of many years. I love to let ideas ferment with time and nurture new life in unexpected ways. Songwriting has been a means of exorcism, exploration, and refuge for as long as I have been doing it, and performance a means of discorporation through embodied action.

Leah Lara - Inflatable puppet prototype (transforming from fish to human puppet w/ theremin accompaniment)

I am a black nonbinary puppeteer and 3-D illustrator from Dallas Tx. I received my BFA in 2023 from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) where I majored in Illustration. My work often investigates the black femme experience while drawing on dark and whimsical fairy tale archetypes and themes. A proud Puppet Council elder and community art advocate, I've organized puppet workshops, slams, plays and interactive play sessions across Chicago. A 2023-24 Chicago Puppet Lab cohort member and  2024 Dark Matter Residency alum, I’ve performed at RoughHouse Theatre, Color Club, Links Hall, Co-Prosperity, the Woman of Color Fringe Festival and have been published by Gush Magazine. I am also a co-organizer and co-curator for PUPPETQUEERS, a biannual adult puppet slam dedicated to uplifting and celebrating queer artists. I love working with my hands, baking, and making extensive and specific slideshows about things. I stick to the commitment of writing, producing, and performing at least one puppet show a year.

Izah, Solaris, Cache QT - OK BOYS (a performance about cruising)

This performance about cruising will include movement, performance art, and abstracted horniness! It will take 7 minutes probably; Not longer than 15 minutes.

Tony Colombe. K - Sheets, Tears & Testosterone (a garden of poetry)

The artist sketches out new queer mythologies, reflecting on how to collectively inhabit a world on the brink of combustion. His work has been exhibited in Switzerland, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Wales. These poems have been published, notably, by Tendre (Paris/Marseille), Loop (Geneva) and PLS: The magazine of the palais de Tokyo (Paris). The titles of the poems are: EVERY DROP OF YOURS IS MAGICAL, and Fire poem n°070 : Demain, Nous ferons bouclier. Since Tony is abroad, his poems will be read aloud in voce alternativa (by Ralph Skunkie Davis).

Ralph Skunkie Davis - Sketching ideas with words before translating them into physical space (poems about such things)

I will read 1-3 poems about embodiment, trans material culture, hyperspecific marginalization, and catharsis. I am a transdisciplinary transsexual artist whose sculptures act as liberatory tools, complicating the perception of marginalized bodies through biomimicry, prosthesis, and body modification. I often work with apocalypse in mind, acknowledging the ways in which the trans body, historically and discreetly, is a site of constant rebirth and reinvention. I received my BFA in Sculpture from RISD in 2023. My art has been featured by Pilotenkueche International Art Program (DE), GEDOK Kunst Symposium (DE), Dispatch Gallery (US), Living Room Gallery (US), Agitator Gallery (US), and Lillstreet Art Center (US), where they work in the metalsmithing department.
