What hours is your gallery 0pen?

Our monthly shows open to everyone are usually held the first Saturday of the month and closing for the show on the last Saturday of the month.

We have gallery hours for now the first Friday of the month from 6:00 to 9:00pm and the last Saturday of the month from 2:00 to 5:00pm and by appointment.

We are still working on setting up our new space and starting up programming at our new space.

What is Agitator Artist Collective?

It is a state and federal nonprofit group of visual artists-curators, each of whom curates an exhibit or art show every month, and offer mutual help and support for one another to prepare each show. Members also share duties in taking the lead on activities at Agitator, like the figure drawing sessions, performance night and talk series.

We take into account our mission statement for our shows by ncluding art made by conventionally overlooked and local artists that agitates or campaigns to provoke dialogue and generate diversity, while respecting each artist’s vision and self-definition.

Is Agitator Artist Collective just concerned with art?

Although Agitator’s primary focus is curating artwork, we have hosted events for Art of Science, the Agitator Lyceum Series, Feminist Fridays, Chicago Honky Tonk, and more! We look forward to bringing back events like these in the future. We also host nonprofit, cultural and social justice groups at our space and occasional pop up art shows.

Where is Agitator Artist Collective located?

We moved to Logan Square at 3851 W Fullerton Ave from our former location in West Town-WIcker Park at 1112 S Ashland Ave. After the third year of our lease ended in September 2020 and during the COVID pandemic, we did not have a space. We re-opened Agitator with a group member and guest artist show on September 17, 2022, and have begun and will continue to remodel the new storefront space.

Can I become a member of Agitator Artist Collective?

Of course! Agitator always welcomes more members who share similar visions and values. To apply, please go here.

How does Agitator support itself and can I help support Agitator Co-operative?

Agitator relies on its programs for events and activities for revenue, donations at art openings and closings, sales of artwork, and the generous support of individuals and groups to sustain itself. We have applied for and will start to receive grants in 2023. Please consider donating on Venmo or PayPal, becoming a monthly subscriber on Patreon, or applying to become a member!
