December 3 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm CST
Critique Night hosted by Agitator Co-operative Gallery and facilitated by Michelle Graves will be held every other 1st Monday of the month starting February 5, 2018.
Critique Night is open to artists working in any medium, drawing, painting, sculpture, audio, video, etc. This event is free to the public with a small $8 fee to participating artists. After a short presentation of participating artists, attendees are allowed to ask questions and/or comment on the artists work.
Discussions will be facilitated by Agitator Member, Michelle Graves, who will maintain the co-operative’s mission, which is to promote art work that agitates or campaigns to provoke dialog and generate diversity, while respecting each artist’s vision and self-definition as well as various racial, socioeconomic, gender, and sexual identities.
Artists who wish to present work for critique from attendees and members of Agitator must RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org and pay $8 on or before the night of the event. (The $8 proceeds go to the Agitator co-operative fund. We accept cash and VISA/MasterCard.) Once you RSVP, you will receive further details to prepare for your critique. There is a limit of 10 presenters per Critique Night and a limit of 30 non-presenting attendees. Presenters are welcome to invite attendees.
We have limited technological resources so please bring what is needed to present media art. One may inquire what we can provide after RSVP.
Time will be equally divided for each artist presenting according to the number of RSVP-ed presenters. (Divided time is subject to change if there are absentees.) The event runs from 6-10pm and will typically use up 3 hours for critique. We recommend presenting for half or less of your allotted time to allow for valuable critique and discussion. Discussion might be time limited per speaking person if necessary.
